Summary: This house is perfectly positioned: 15 minutes’ walk to the port and restaurants, 5 minutes to Bestouan beach, 25 minutes to the nearest Calanque – but still very quiet. It's also a great house with a nice pool. The main diving/living space is amazing with an incredible view, as is the main bedroom. The other bedrooms are fine, though smaller. Chistophe (who runs the property on behalf of the owners) was good at fixing problems: we called him out twice as the dishwasher wasn’t working properly, and he also brought us a replacement fan. However, the fact he had to come out twice for the dishwasher (which still only washed subsequently if you rinse everything first and put hardly anything in) reflects the fact that bits of this house are a bit tired. The bathrooms could also have been cleaned better before our stay. Many (quite expensive) houses in Cassis don’t have AC. For the two weeks were there, the temperature was around 35 degrees. Although the bedrooms had fans, none of us slept well. I would say AC is a must if you visit in summer. We also had some poor communication at the end of our stay. Christophe (who doesn’t use the VRBO app, despite it being a requirement) asked us what time we were leaving so we could give him the keys; we replied but he never turned up and he then complained about us leaving the property without a checkout! Overall, this is a great house but could be even better with a few relatively small updates/changes.
